Want to give a successful presentation?
No more than 3 points/slide. Be concise! Tell your audience a story. Engage them and be clear with what you can do for them! This is who I am, this is what YOU are looking for, this is what I can offer you and this is how it will benefit you.
You are the star in your power point presentation, which means, your slides support YOU. Don’t rely on their content- speak to your audience from your heart and have slides that quickly draw them in and compliment your words. Do you want to quickly draw the audience into your slides? And have their brains process the information quickly enough that they are still focusing on you? Your slides must follow basic photography rules for quick and clear interpretation. Go grab a piece of paper. Draw two lines horizontally and two lines vertically- equally spaced. The points where the lines intersect are your “focal points” or hot spots. Make THAT the “center” of your information on your slide.
Now practice 1-3 times and have fun up there! Speak from your heart. Get grounded (hug a tree, wear a grounding gem stone, ask your Naturopath for a personalized flower essence) and stay grounded. You will be awesome!
Oh and PS- I just met with Devin Hughes (www.devinchughes.com) …even though this blog was written prior to his meeting…I had to add the PS because his motivational speaking and guidance CHANGED MY WORLD. This is great info, but CONTACT HIM- he really knows how to make a difference in your speaking! Then come grab a flower essence to smooth out the emotional ride your putting yourself on! And OWN IT!
