Have you ever found yourself in a place of “searching”. As if you want to type into the computer your exact question, hit the search button and then a picture with a beautiful description of what you’re searching for pops up. Found!
How long will I live with this condition? What is my purpose? Should we get married? Where should I move to find the community and atmosphere I desire? Where is my lost dog?
This morning I treated a patient with stage 4 lung cancer. Two nights ago, I got up at 2am and went for a walk on the beach because I couldn’t sleep. A couple weeks ago I had a patient crying in my office because she hated the way she was feeling, the way her life looked and didn’t know the next steps to take toward happiness.
What’s in your search engine?
Sometimes just acknowledging the words that you would type in, the questions you would ask, the way you feel is enough to simulate change.
It is bringing what you truly desire into your awareness, loving and accepting it as truth and your own, then having the courage to act upon it that stimulates change. So the real question is, what do you want? Lets not focus on what you don’t want or how you don’t want to feel, but nourish the energies of change in a positive direction. What are you searching for? Be specific!
If you say “happiness”, then I want to know what happiness looks like? What does happiness feel like? When you get it, are you willing to love and embrace it? Or, are you going to reject happiness out of fear? Fear that it may be taken away from you, it wont last or your perceived experience of happiness is not what really makes you happy. How will you respond to getting everything you want? Think about this carefully. Be honest with yourself. The answer to that questions maybe why you are still searching.
