Less than 24hrs later, I went to an amazing orthopedist in Encinitas, Dr. Garrett Tallman, who not only showed me personalized and uninterrupted care, but also very patiently walked me through my surgical and non-surgical options. Best option for my case is surgery. So, I have decided to document my progress using natural remedies to enhance pre and post surgical care and recovery time/results.
Still no Vicodin or pharmaceutical anti-inflammatories used. I have taken the appropriate dose of Arnica homeopathic and a combination tincture of anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant botanical medicine. I have also made my famous Umm K’s healing broth and remained hydrated.
Slight pain present, but more of a pressure-like sensation with limited swelling and bruising. Physical exam for ligamentous damage was unclear at time of visit, but no major trauma to the ligaments or tendons that would cause additional surgery (that we could tell at time of visit).
As a young, healthy, athletic female, my path to recovery was estimated at 8 weeks post surgery with no weight baring activity, followed by additional time for physical therapy and long term healing (time frame currently unspecified).
Stay posted for pain, surgical and rehabilitation updates as well as Dr. Michelle Wolford’s Naturopathic treatment options!
